About

We’re passionate about serving quality, local, and organic products, made from scratch and using whole-foods whenever possible. We’re in the business to support culinary innovation, our community, and local producers. We believe that every college campus deserves healthy and quality options for students, staff, and visitors.

As a local, Native American, and queer women-owned small business, we also support our community’s environmental and social causes. We work with the University’s Sustainability Office and contribute to the student farm’s composting efforts. We are also engaged with the University’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Office.

Owner Tosha Rustad began her career as a baker for a grocer, and after a short while in franchise management, chose to work for a more sustainable and influential employer, Caffe Ibis Coffee Roasting Company. There, she worked as deli manager under the guidance of founder Sally Sears, whose vision and passion mirrored what Tosha long envisioned as something the world could use more of in its entrepreneurial leadership: compassion, deliberate consciousness, and just plain respectable ethics. After moving to Salt Lake City and working in fine dining, Tosha was presented an opportunity to work as Director of Cafe Operations at the Red Chair Cafe. This endeavor led Tosha and her partner to form their own business, La Muse d’Or, as they continue to serve with passion and purpose at the Red Chair Cafe.
